I'm not. Track day bro!

Kinja'd!!!

Listening to a GT3 RS pass you at full tilt is a good reason to use a vacation day. Also, driving isn't bad either.

Awesome! I always have a great time at NJMP. My last 8 days on track in a row have been there though, so looking forward to some variety soon. I'm headed to summit point next month!

Yeah, it was hot and therefore completely exhausting. I actually skipped my very last session because it was super late in the day (6:05pm) and had instructors mixed in - they're friggin pushy. I was running with the advanced group (solo, actually, most of day 2). I had a headache and was just beat by 5pm. My policy is that if you have any hesitation at all about whether you're sharp enough to run a particular session you should just bag it. Still, got about 3 hours on track total this event and learned a ton. Next one is Summit Point (main track) at the end of July. You have any coming up?

Summit is nice, about 45 minutes from my current base. watch out for deer! my favorite on the eas coast has to be VIR

Oh god, I saw that video of the corvette hitting the deer. And I saw the video of it happening during the LeMons race. That shit is TERRIFYING. Crossing my fingers, I guess. I've also heard groundhogs are a pain in the ass there. Damn whistlepigs. VIR is on my short list of must-do tracks. Maybe laaaaaaate this year, like November. It's a really far drive for me. Watkins Glen is another one, slightly closer. So many tracks, so little time/money =)

yeah VIr is around 8 hours from where i used to live in nj (up near del mem bridge.) what group do you run with?

BMW CCA - although I would like to start running with the local PCA chapters as well. Their prices are a bit better and I heard they're a blast. I'm outside Philly, so the drive to VIR for me would be like 6.5 - 7 hours.

PCA has a huge group and is probably my biggest source of customers, they must be doing something right. and VIR is worth every second of the drive, try and get a full course date if you can!!

Exactly why I've kept my track excursions (to this point) to the spring and fall. Definitely a good idea to stay off if you're not 100%. 3 hours is fantastic! No issues with the car? I don't have any planned right now, but since I didn't make it out this spring, I'm going to have to this fall. Vacation is already at a premium this year, so that makes it a challenge. Can't wait to get that extra week in a year!

Yeah I hear you on the vacation front - mine is coming up later this month and I'm headed to the south of all places (for a wedding, originally, but then we decided to make a vacation out of it). The time away from the office is badly needed in any case.

No problems at all with the car in a humid 85 degrees. I ran seven 25-minute sessions without a single hiccup. In fact, my car now has 8 track days on it and hasn't had one issue. I've tracked it in 40 degrees and rain and 90 degrees and unbearable humidity. All fine. Really inspires confidence in the reliability of these things.

Awesome. Only issue I've had at the track was tire-related (valve stem). It is crazy how hard these things can be beat on, and then give us a comfortable drive home. I did get the Increased Emissions warning during hard driving on my last backroadtrip - was the Low Pressure Fuel Sensor. Let the dealer handle it - wasn't too much.

I'm also badly in need of a break (and will probably be even more so by the time my trip gets here in two weeks).
